The technique is empowering: the client is in charge in sculpting his own experience. It works with persons of any age, including those with few verbal skills, limited insight, or oppositional tendencies.

KST is an effective and efficient resource in a variety of settings: schools, social service agencies and community clinics, in residential treatment, and in family practice, day treatment and hospital, and in transitional living settings.
